We’ve upleveled the Selfie Verification experience to improve authenticity across Plenty of Fish.
If you’ve Self-verified your profile you’ve now unlocked the ability to request others do the same, ensuring that the person you’re talking to is the real deal.
How to Use Plenty of Fish's In-App Selfie Request Feature
Step 1
First things first, let’s get you verified
Head to your profile and under “My Account” tap the “Manage Account” menu. From there, you’ll see an option to verify your profile. Once you hit the verify option you’ll be brought to the verification homepage.
Step 2
Take your Selfie
Follow the onscreen instructions. Make sure your face is clearly visible and matches your profile photo
Step 3
Get verified!
Wait a few seconds, if it’s a match you should be instantly verified
Step 4 Just ask
Now that you’re verified, you can ask other members to verify themselves:
Start a conversation: Verification requests can only be sent through the conversation view. So if there’s someone you’re interested in, don’t hesitate to send a message.
Request Verification: In the conversation view you will see a shield icon in the top right navigation bar, tap that button and the request bottom sheet will appear.
Send the Request: If you’re ready take the plunge and request verification. The other member will receive a notification asking them to verify their photo by taking a selfie.
If they successfully Selfie-verify you will receive a notification in the conversation of their new status. Their avatar photo will also now show the Selfie-verified badge
Enjoy Authentic Connections
After both parties are verified, you can enjoy chatting and connecting with the peace of mind that comes from interacting with genuine members.
