What is Live!?
Plenty of Fish Live! allows you to go beyond a member’s profile and see what they’re like in-person from the comfort of your home. Partnering with The Meet Group, Plenty of Fish now allows members to stream themselves as they go about their day-to-day lives! Tune into other streams, pass along virtual gifts, and connect in more ways than ever before with Live!
Who Can Use Live!?
While we’re already hard at work making sure Live! is available to every Plenty of Fish member, it is only available through our app on iPhone and Android.
How Do I Stream?
It’s easy to put yourself on the air. Tap Live! on the Plenty of Fish app homescreen, then tap Go Live! to start streaming yourself to other singles. Remember to follow our guidelines, but, most importantly, be yourself! Authenticity and an interesting peek behind the curtains of your profile are the best way to bring viewers in!
Who’s Viewing My Stream?
While you’re streaming, you can see every current viewer by tapping the eye icon. The main chat you see is public, and can be seen by all viewers. Feel free to say ‘Hello’ or give a shoutout to anyone on the list. You can also add them to your Favorites if they’ve been particularly amazing!
What Does it Mean to Favorite Someone in Live!?
When you Favorite someone in Live!, either by tapping the star icon during a stream or tapping Favorite on the streamer’s profile, we send you notifications when this person starts up their next stream. You can always review these important people under your “Favorites” tab. As a streamer, it’s a great idea to remind your viewers to favorite you, so they know when you’re around and streaming!
To remove someone from your Favorites, head to You! and select the Favorites tab. You can either swipe to remove (on iPhone) or tap and hold to remove (on Android).
What are the Rules for Live!?
Just like any time you’re meeting new people on Plenty of Fish, we expect you to be on your best and brightest behavior. Of course, there are a few more rules in place for when you’re streaming, or viewing a stream, so check out Meet Me’s Community Guidelines for official Live! rules.
What are Hearts and Gifts?
Hearts are the easiest way to show a streamer that you love what they’re doing. Tap the heart icon to send one, or tap and hold to send heart after heart after heart. Spread the love!
If you really enjoy a particular Streamer, you’ll have the option to send a virtual gift as a tip. Gifts cost Live Credits to send and can vary in cost. Receiving gifts allows streamers to gain more exposure and, in turn, sending a gift will help get you noticed by them!
What are Diamonds?
When you send a virtual gift to someone, they receive diamonds. No longer just best friends, diamonds can be redeemed as Live Credits or a cash reward, and are a great way to track your progress as a streamer. There are also leaderboards that track top Viewer-getters and diamond-earners!
What are Live! Credits?
Live Credits are the virtual currency used to send virtual gifts to streamers. Live Credits are different from Tokens, and cannot be exchanged for Boosts, Super Yes’s, or Priority Messages.
How Do I Date with Live!?
Live! is an opportunity to get to know members, and let them get to know you, without any pressure. By using Live, you’re joining a community of streamers and viewers looking for new connections. As you get to know the streamers and viewers in this community, you’ll develop new relationships, friendships, and so much more. Remember to communicate and interact with each other through hearts, gifts, and chat options!
To add a little flair in the world of online dating, we’ve introduced NextDate™, an interactive game that works like virtual speed dating with an audience to cheer you on! Ask the prompted questions to your potential matches, then decide who you’d like to get to know better over private video chat. To jump into a game of NextDate™, go to Live and tap the heart icon in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. When the prompt pops up, tap “Play Now!” to get started!
