We know that dating isn’t always easy, so in honor of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, we’re super excited to share we’re partnering with self-care and meditation app Shine to help reduce your anxiety around dating.
Have questions about this partnership? We have answers to your FAQ’s!
What does this partnership mean for me as a Plenty of Fish member?
Since we want you to be your best self when you’re looking for love, we’re giving out 5,000 free Shine memberships to our members in the US!
What does a Shine membership give me?
With your free membership, you’ll get access to over 800 meditations, calming sounds, sleep stories, journaling exercises, tools to track mood and gratitude, and community discussion boards. Plus, Shine has created two extra special dating specific guided meditations to help you navigate your dating life during a pandemic and maintain balance in your life.
How can I get one of these free memberships?
Keep your eyes peeled for an inbox message in your Plenty of Fish app on October 9th! We’ll be sending all members, new and existing, a special link to a Shine landing page where you can hit the “Get Started” button to redeem and sign up for your free membership. You’ll be asked to create an account with your email and a password and then they’ll take it from there!
How do I know if my new membership is active?
Once you’ve registered using your inbox link, look out for an email from Shine to welcome you to their platform (don’t forget to check your spam/junk folder). They’ll ask you to take a survey to get you going!
How will I know when the 5,000 memberships have run out?
Once all the free memberships have been grabbed, you’ll no longer be able to hit the “Get Started” button on the Shine page mentioned above (it’ll be greyed out), and you’ll see a notice telling you the promotion has ended, meaning the offer has sadly expired.
What’s so great about Shine?
We love Shine for a ton of reasons. They’re one of the leading self-care apps out there, but we love them a little extra because they want to help make caring for your mental and emotional health easier, more representative, and more inclusive. They’re also the number 1 self-care app created by women of colour, and we think that’s pretty awesome.
How will this help me with my dating life?
You’ve probably heard it before, but loving yourself first makes loving someone else a whole lot easier! We know the world is weird right now (and we know that’s an understatement), but the anxiety you feel in your everyday life can have a huge impact on your dating life. Spending some quality you-time focusing on getting your mental health… well, healthy, can often be the missing piece in your love life puzzle. A calm, confident, well-rested you is one we’d sure want to date! Not to be creepy or anything…
