How to block someone on the app or web
Blocking guide
If someone’s crossed the line and you'd like them to swim right off, we've got you covered better than SPF 50 on a hot July day.
Blocking a profile will prevent that member from messaging you, so you don't need to worry about unwanted contact. This is a safety feature. If you need to contact our support team about a member you've blocked, you'll need to be able to find them so you can give us those details.
If blocking still doesn't feel like it's enough, you can also report them using the Report Profile button to report any behavior that doesn't meet our Community Standards.
Block Someone Through a Message:
In the POF App, head to the chat with the member you want to block and click on the shield with a heart icon on the top right-hand side of your screen. You’ll see the Safety Toolbox pop up where you can tap Block and/or Report.
Block Someone Through Their Profile:
In the App, head to the member’s profile you want to block and tap the shield with a heart icon on the top right-hand side of your screen. You’ll see the Safety Toolbox pop up where you can tap Block or Report. If you want to block them because they have an offensive profile description or lewd photos, you can tap on Report, for our moderators to review.
Block Someone on Web:
When you’re chatting with a member on the web version of Plenty of Fish and decide you want to block them, click on the horizontal dots on the right-hand side of the page and click “Block This Person.”
Check our Safety Centre Blocking Guide for an in-depth conversation about how to limit your profile visibility.
