Incognito FAQ
Incognito is a privacy feature available in Plus, Premium and Prestige tiers. Incognito lets you browse and use the app while tightly controlling who can see your profile. Note: this feature is not yet available in all locations.
When Incognito is on, your profile is hidden from most people and is only shown to people you choose (for example, people you’ve liked or messaged). When Incognito is off, your profile appears normally in recommendations.

What Incognito Does
When you turn Incognito on:
- ✅ Only people you interact with can see you
- Your profile is only shown to:
- People you like (e.g., send a “like”, “vote”, or equivalent action)
- People you message, if messaging is available before matching
- Your profile is only shown to:
- ✅ You can still:
- Browse profiles
- Like people
- Match and chat as usual
- ✅ Your existing matches:
- Still see your profile
- Can still message you
In short: you decide who sees you first. You can still reach out, but random people don’t see your profile in their recommendations unless you’ve shown interest.
What Incognito Does Not Do
Incognito does not:
- 🚫 Block or unmatch anyone
- To stop someone from contacting you, use block/unmatch tools instead.
- 🚫 Delete or deactivate your account
- Your account remains active; you’re just more hidden.
- 🚫 Guaranteed invisibility everywhere outside the app
- People can still screenshot your profile or see you if you share it with them directly.
Who Can Use Incognito
If you don’t currently have access, you may see a paywall or an upgrade screen when you try to turn it on.
If you’re unsure whether Incognito is included in your plan, go to my account in the app to check your current benefits.

Common Questions
Q: Can someone I haven’t liked still see my profile?
A: No. While Incognito is on, your profile isn’t shown in general recommendations to people you haven’t interacted with. It’s only shown to people you like or message, plus your existing matches.
Q: Do my existing matches know I’m in Incognito?
A: No. Incognito doesn’t change how your profile looks to people you have already matched with. They can still view your profile and message you as usual.
Q: Does Incognito affect my matches or chats?
A: No. Incognito only changes who can newly discover your profile. Your current chats, matches, likes you’ve already exchanged, and conversations stay the same.
Q: What happens to my likes while I’m Incognito?
A: When you like someone while Incognito is on:
- They can still see your profile as usual when they receive your like.
- If they like you back, you’ll match and can chat normally.
Q: If I turn Incognito off, what changes?
A: Once you turn Incognito off:
- Your profile goes back to appearing in the app’s regular recommendations again.
- People who haven’t seen you before may start seeing your profile in their deck/search, based on the app’s normal matching logic.
Troubleshooting
“Someone I never liked still saw my profile while I was Incognito.”
Possible reasons:
- You may have matched or interacted with them before turning Incognito on.
- There may have been a delay in the setting taking effect if you just toggled it.
What to do:
- Double-check that Incognito is currently on in Settings → Privacy.
- If the issue continues, take a screenshot (if safe to do so) and contact Support with:
- The approximate time it happened
- The device and OS you’re using
- The profile name or basic details (do not share sensitive info)
Privacy & Safety Tips
- Incognito adds extra control, but it’s not a complete privacy shield.
- Always:
- Be cautious about sharing personal information.
- Use block/report tools if someone makes you feel uncomfortable.
- Review your other Privacy settings regularly.
